Birthday Sundaes # 5

Anything goes is the challenge at "Birthday Sundaes" this week.

"First class Friends" is a new stamp of mine.  ! I think I actually designed the card around the stamp...... I had to fit it on the card somewhere!

I used Story book to cut the shape at the back, Picturesque for the leaves and the larger petals of the flower. I used Forever Young for the centre of the flowers.

Here is a close up..............lots of sparkle using diamond dust. Can you tell I love that stuff!

Come join us for a fun challenge................

Enjoy your weekend

White with 1...........

Today I decided to do something different........Step outside my comfort zone! I often visit the "White with 1" challenge blog to view the beautiful works of art but have never taken part in a challenge. Two days ago I met Cathy from "Cathy can't help herself" in our local Kaiser outlet store she is on the DT........she encouraged me to have a go................
So this is me having a go! What a great month to do it..........I'm working with my favourite color.

White + royal or navy blue + a banner is the challenge.

How lucky was I to have this Navy lace in my stash....and Warren is wearing a blue shirt! LOL

Here's a close up of the banner which is raised with foam dots and my favourite little heart buttons.

Here is what I've used ...........
Cricut Cartridges
Banner - Martha Stewart everyday cake,
Font on banner - Rock Princess
Scallop lace border - Martha Stewart elegant cake
Story book - blue back ground

Heart stamp - Love defined - stampin up

Hop over to "White with 1" and have a look at all the great Layouts

I loved this fairy photo when I saw it!............ .This card is for a friend who loves fairy's like me.

I photographed it on a this bubble cardboard which works really well with the picture and adds to the fantasy theme.

The frame behind the picture was cut using "Story book", then embossed with white then a glitter embossing powder. The last layer of the flower was cut using "Walk in my Garden".

I'm entering this card in a challenge at Crafty Sentiments Blogspot - we need to use a border punch. My punch is from Stampin up. Go over and have a look at all the great designs.

For You........

This is a card I made for Tereesa..........I think everyone that knows her, can  tell you her favourite color is PINK and more PINK........

Its a "Joy fold " card opening from the bottom. "Elegant Cakes" was used to cut the rose. I layered it 4 times to add dimension and a little more interest to the rose.......using foam dots in between each layer. The leaves are from "Walk in my Garden".
The white frame is from "Story Book"

I hope you like it.............Get well Soon

Embrace Life

Hello and Welcome to day 7 of the Blog Hop

This is my Swap Card............ I created just the face of the card , only adding a small amount of dimension, keeping in mind it was to be mounted in a frame. So everyone else who received the card can mount it any way they choose!

The tree branch I cut from Story Book, it is raised with tiny foam dots, it  is hard to see that in the photo.

The photo below shows you what I did with the card.........A little more detail makes a huge difference to the overall appearance. White card mounted on black, using the scallop punch again at the end. It measures 4.25 x 7.75in. The card size is 4.50 x 8in.

Here's the recipe for my card. I made the photo slightly transparent then added the text to give details for all my  measurements, it was glued  to the back of my swap card.

Hope you like it!

One day to go...........Head back to Scrappy-Go-Lucky tomorrow to see what Lisa and Tara have created.

"Around the World Blog Hop"

Welcome to day 4 of the Scrappy-Go-Lucky Blog Hop.
My challenge was to come up with something to do with my part of the world, or a part of the word that is important to me.
I live in Brisbane which is situated between two beautiful Coast lines..... The "Gold Coast" to the south and the Sunshine Coast to the North........so I decided to do them both.

One thing I needed to feature on both pages was the Cri-Kit Gel pens. Design Studio helped with the alignment of the pens to border the scallop mat, which was cut from "Story Book".

This page is from the "Gold Coast". The paper I used is Kaiser "Distracted". The flowers are from "Life's a Beach" plumeria, and were cut at 3in, 2.5in, and 2in. I cut the leaves from "Walk in my Garden".....1in, .09in, .07in.

On the photo below the white gel pen was used, it turned out exactly how I wanted ........Sign Writing in the Sky! That was done with "Lyrical Letters".

The heading "Surf's Up" is from the "Life's a Beach" cartridge. The words and surf board are one cut. I then did a second cut with just the board as I wanted the surf board a different color to the font. The Cri-Kits glitter pink gel pen was used to draw the plumeria's across the board, and they were then colored with water color pencils. The pink pen also borders "surf's up" with lots of white glitter added.

I think of the Cri-Kit pens just like a stamp, draw your image and color it in !

So if you'd like a chance to win a set of these great pens , just leave a comment at the bottom of this post, Random.org will choose the winner on Friday the 18th of June.
Be sure to leave a way for me to contact you if your comment is chosen.

My inspiration for this second page was the phrase Queensland Tourism uses to describe the state.......
"Queensland , Beautiful one day, Perfect the next"
So this is what a came up with........ the photos were taken at Rainbow Beach.

Using "Base Camp" With Design Studio and the Cri-Kits, I bordered the font with Cri-Kits blue glitter gel pen and wrote inside the B with black. Crystal Effects was used to give the letters more dimension. "Perfect" was done the same way. The paper is a favourite of mine, its Kaiser "Esperance".

The kite is from the "Everyday Paper Dolls" cartridge, and the font is from "Lyrical Letters" drawn with the black Cri-Kits gel pen.

The Star fish is from "Life's a Beach" outlined with gold Cri-Kits. And Bling  of course!

As you know, Mandy is giving away the four latest release cartridges from CRICUT

It was a last minute decision to make this card ........I found the Maple Leaf image on "A Child's Year", this represents Canada and that's where my Husband is from. We have family there who we hope to visit sometime soon.

As another example of using the Cri-Kits as a stamp effect, the leaf was drawn onto water color paper at 4in with the black Cri-Kits gel pens. My heat gun was used to set the ink which stopped the bleeding when water-colouring. Stampin Up earth element crayons were used to color with an aqua brush.

The leaf just looks like a stamped image I think! A very simple and quick card to make.

So that's it from me.................Don't forget Tereesa's blog  tomorrow, to see her amazing creation and for another clue!

Here's mine

Good Luck and Happy Hopping!

I love Tulips

Hi everyone, yesterday I was experimenting with a photo editing program, adjusting the hue, leaving a color that I wanted and making the rest of the photo black & white. I love the results!

So I decided to make it into a page, co-ordinating paper with the color of the tulips. Story book cartridge was used to cut the scallop square. The font is Lyrical letters.

Using Design Studio with the Cri-Kit gelly pens  I lined the branch up on my papers to give a stamped look. The branch is from Story Book cartridge.

The flower is the daisy from Walk in my Garden and the butterfly is from Lyrical Letters.

I love old buttons, here's a close up.

Have a great day
