Hearts......

Hey there,

Its time to show you the new Die cut challenge at Stuck on U Sketches.
"Create a Banner"
I've created a simple Banner using lots of Hearts from scrap paper.......embellishing them with flowers, buttons and some liquid pearls.

The large doily heart was cut using Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art ....the smaller ones were cut with George. I used my sewing machine to join them all together.

This looks really pretty hanging across my kitchen dresser.

Yay.......its Friday, have a great weekend

Berrylicious

One of my favourite deserts is "Pavlova" covered in lots of strawberries.

Berrylicious I think:)

The theme this week for 'Stuck on U Sketches' die cut team is "Fruit".
Jordyn requested a Pavlova for her 15th  birthday cake so I thought these photos would be perfect !

I used 'Hello Kitty' cartridge for the strawberries and Martha Stewart 'Elegant cake Art' for the large doily.
I used 'Art Philosophy for the font.

Look at this strawberry banner from 'Country Life' cartridge..........I have not used this cartridge very much and did not realise it had this feature until now! Most of the images on the cartridge can be cut out in a banner, how cool is that. At the moment I am going through a banner stage.......I just love them:)

I hope you can join us for this fun challenge!
Head over to 'SOUS' and have a peak at the Design Teams fabulous 'Fruit Salad' of inspiration.......

Enjoy your day and Thank you for stopping by:)

"Scrap the Girls" is having a colour challenge this month........I found this photo of Tori and Jordyn which went perfectly.
White - which you can't see because my background is white, pale pink, hot pink and black.

The paper I have used is Kaiser "Love Notes". The scallop circles of the flowers were cut with "mini monograms" cartridge and for the black scallop border I used Martha Stewart "Elegant cake". I still have a huge supply of little heart buttons which I bordered the photo with.

Yay......another page completed for Jordyn's Album

Thankyou so much 4 stopping by

For a good cause...........

My local Kaiser Outlet store is running a workshop on Saturday the 5th of February........you can create anything you want - Layout, Off the page item, basically anything you can put photos in or on. All the projects created on that day will be donated to people who lost everything in the Floods. I can't do the workshop on that day so I have made a layout ahead of time and I'll be dropping it into the store next week.

Usually when I do a layout I know what photos I'm going to use.........so to do it this way was a bit of a challenge for me.  As you can see it fits 4 photos. I 've left the overlap of paper free of tape so a photo can be slotted in quite easy.

I embossed the chip board letters...............When I heated the powder up it melted but did not go smooth how it normally would ( I don't know why) it stayed a rough texture which I thought kinda looked like snow? I liked the way it turned out.

Here's the cartridges I've used -

Martha Stewart elegant cake - large doily and leaf border
Joys to the Season - Branch of leaves
George - large circle and rectangles for photos
Paper - Kaiser winter wonderland

White with 1...........

Today I decided to do something different........Step outside my comfort zone! I often visit the "White with 1" challenge blog to view the beautiful works of art but have never taken part in a challenge. Two days ago I met Cathy from "Cathy can't help herself" in our local Kaiser outlet store she is on the DT........she encouraged me to have a go................
So this is me having a go! What a great month to do it..........I'm working with my favourite color.

White + royal or navy blue + a banner is the challenge.

How lucky was I to have this Navy lace in my stash....and Warren is wearing a blue shirt! LOL

Happy New Year...........

Hello, Happy New Year!

It feels like forever since I've been here.........I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. My husband has been on holidays for a week, we've been enjoying lots of family time and doing the odd improvement around the house. One thing that I'm so excited about is today Paul put a new shower head in our shower and its "BIG"......Hey, I know this is only a small thing, but I was so over this tiny water saving one we had! (The new one still saves water, but it covers me!)

A week before Christmas I enjoyed a wonderful day of craft at a friends place. Walking into Lola's house at Christmas you really feel like you are in "fairy land" so many lights every where...its so pretty.

Here are some pictures of what we made.... Starting with large match boxes  we joined them together to form a cube, covered them in our favoutite papers then embelished them with pretty things.

Here's Lola's creation.......She loves earthy colors!

The flowers were cut from George and the paper is Kaiser.

And here's mine...........which I finished today!

On the top you could add lots of embelishments.......I just added a few.....the rose paper was just to  beautiful to cover up. The paper is "Rose Garden" by Papermania. Its a large 12 x 12 pad that has all the die cuts and letters as well.

I cut the Butterfly from "Martha Stewart"  elegant cake art.

I can't wait to put some little treasure's in my pretty box.

Now, has anyone got some ideas for all these matches???????

Looking forward to a great 2011.......Happy New Year
